Easystore Backs One of the UK’s Top Tennis Clubs

South Wales self storage firm Easystore has backed one of the country’s top tennis clubs in a sponsorship deal that helps the future of the sport in the Welsh capital.

Mackintosh LTC is based in the Roath area of Cardiff and will utilise the partnership to help reinvest in its facilities as well as support its senior teams, starting with an Open Day on Saturday 12th May.

Brendan Connies-Laing, Director of Easystore Self Storage, spoke of the link-up with the club: “I am incredibly honoured that Easystore has teamed up with one of the UK’s top tennis clubs. I am a hugely passionate tennis fan so to see this come to fruition is fantastic. The business has always supported local causes that sit near to our locations in Cardiff and Bridgend and I am delighted that we have managed to throw our weight behind another worthy and burgeoning community hub.”

Tom Griffiths, Chairman at Mackintosh LTC, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Easystore Self Storage has chosen to support Mackintosh Tennis Club. This investment will enable us to keep progressing on both a club and national level. Sharing a huge passion and love of tennis makes Easystore Self Storage the perfect partner for us.”

Located in the heart of Roath, near the centre of Cardiff, the Mackintosh Sports Club has a very well established Lawn Tennis Club. Mackintosh Lawn Tennis Club recently named Tennis Wales Club of the Year for 2017 is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Wales and a founder member of the Welsh LTA. The club boasts a total of five outdoor floodlit hard macadam courts, and offers a comprehensive coaching and competitions programme catering for players of all ages and experience levels.

Easystore Self Storage was established in 2002 and developed its first facility in Cardiff the following year with the Bridgend facility opening in 2009. Previously, Mr Connies-Laing gained experience working within the self storage industry in the USA and recognised the importance of access control systems and in improving the self storage customer experience.

Easystore has several unique qualities that set it apart from other self storage companies such as easy access 24/7 along with a simple pricing structure. The business has a rich history of supporting community hubs with Brackla RFC, Rumney Under 16s and Techniquest all partnering up with the self storage firm over the last few years.

Frying Pan Mini Tennis Competition Results

Our Shrove Tuesday frying pan tennis competition turned out to be a big success with 12 players taking part.

All players had loads of fun, and there were some unbelievable points played considering players were using frying pans.

The final was contested by Alex and Tom with both players proving they were worthy finalists with an amazing display of powerful baseline rallies and net play skills. In a close match Alex eventually came out on top winning 10-8 to become the 2015 Mackintosh Frying Pan Tennis champion.

Following the tennis all players enjoyed some delicious pancakes in the clubhouse to round off a great evening.

There will also be an opportunity to play usual Social Tennis for those players knocked out of the competition and after the competition ends.
